Beware! High Beam 'Virus' More Deadly Than COVID-19

 High Beam 'Virus' More Deadly

Here's Why?

The use of high beams in cars and how it is the cause of almost 33 percent of traffic accidents in India.

New Delhi - High beams of vehicles have become the cause of several accidents that have killed hundreds of people across the country. Despite various rules on the use of high-beam lights, the provision of fines, and the Ministry of Road Transport expressing concern about it, although this issue does not seem to concern the authorities or ordinary people.

The use of high beams in cars and has caused almost 33 percent of traffic accidents that occur at night.

First of all, you need to understand high beams and low beams. In a high-beam headlamp, the range of light is very high and they cast light directly forward, while low-beam headlamps cast light downward.

When the headlights are on, their light covers an area of 100 meters. During this, if three people are standing at a distance of 70 meters from the car, people will not be able to see anything clearly because of the light in their eyes. Whereas in Low Beam the light falls only up to 40 meters and there is not much danger because the light falls downwards.

Under Section 177 of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act 2019, a fine of Rs 500 is imposed for the first time, a fine of Rs 1500 for the second time, and repeated violation of this rule may also result in the suspension of the driver's license. But despite this, people turn on their headlights at high beams.

In the year 2018, the Delhi Police had issued 5710 challans for driving with high beams, while in 2019; the number of such challans was 3427. While in the year 2020, only 427 people were renegades. There were fewer challans in 2020 due to the coronavirus lockdown.

According to a study, the light from high beams affects vision and the study suggests that it takes 20 to 60 seconds for your vision to recover in such a situation. It's like when someone throws dust in your eyes while you're driving and you can't see anything.

However, today it has become a trend to drive in High Beam. People also use LED bulbs and lights. Apart from this, all the new vehicles that are arriving today, their headlights are very bright. You use it and because of this many traffic accidents happen and people lose their lives.

This problem affects the nation and every person has experienced it at one time or another, while most people face it every day.
