Samples of 12 people were sent for genome sequencing, out of which 1 person has been found infected with Omicron. All these 12 people had returned from abroad. Including 1 case of Omicron found in Delhi, so far 5 cases of the new variant of Corona have been found in the country.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that according to initial reports, 1 Omicron is infected in Delhi. Genome sequencing of 12 people has been done. Omicron has been found in one which came from Tanzania. Initial reports are that there will be one more test. His report will come tomorrow (on Monday).

A traveler who returned to Mumbai from Tanzania in East Africa has been found infected with Kovid. The person found infected with Omicron in Dombivali, adjacent to Mumbai, did not take the Kovid vaccine. Her symptoms of Omicron were also quite mild. He only had a mild fever. Till now 12 of his high risk close contacts have been traced and it is a matter of relief that their report has come negative. Apart from this, after tracing his 23 low risk contacts, his Kovid report has also come negative.
The person infected with Omicron is currently under the supervision of doctors but he does not have any special problem. In such a situation, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar also said that there is no need to panic or be afraid but be alert.
